Description

Insítear scéal Danny agus a athar William san úrscéal seo a phléann leis an ngrá speisialta idir athair agus mac — scéal a bhaineann le roghanna morálta, agus a thaispeánann sé cé mar a dhéanann daoine ‘maithe’ drochrudaí, nó go gcuirtear daoine i gcás go mbíonn orthu roghanna deacra a dhéanamh. Ina dhiaidh sin féin, tugann an leabhar seo dóchas do dhaoine óga. Taispeáineann sé gur féidir leo céimeanna beaga a thógáil in aghaidh daoine atá ag déanamh gearleanúna orthu, agus cathanna beaga a bhuachaint trí chlisteacht agus obair chrua. Rinneadh scannán den leabhar in 1989, agus tá sé ar cheann de na leabhair is cáiliúla le Roald Dahl.

The story is about Danny, a young boy, and his father, William, who live in a gypsy caravan fixing cars for a living and partake in in poaching pheasants, and the plot is centred on the moral dilemma faced by good people who do 'bad things', and ultimately shows that one can bring about change by small actions and hard work. The book was filmed in 1989 and has been translated into dozens of languages.
