Description

An chéad albam leis an ngrúpa ceoil Island Eddy leis na ceoltóirí Brendan Larrissey (fidil), Brian Duke (feadóg mhór), Jim McKee (amhráin, giotár) agus Martin Gavin (bodhrán).

Is as Dún Dealgan, Co. Lú do Brendan Larrissey, scothfhidléir, agus tá sé ag cur faoi i nGaillimh le beagnach fiche bliain anuas. Is as an gCorr Chríochach, Co. Thír Eoghain do Jim McKee agus tá trí amhrán nua scríofa ag Jim don albam seo, iad bunaithe ar a thaithí sa Tuaisceart san am a chuaigh thart. Is as Co. Ros Comáin do Brian Duke, contae a bhfuil traidisiún láidir fliúiteadóireachta ann agus tá Brian ar dhuine de na ceoltóirí is fearr a léiríonn an oidhreacht fliúiteadóireachta seo. Is as Béal Átha na Sluaighe don sárbhodhránaí Martin Gavin agus an-suim aige i gceol oirthear na Gaillimhe.

Island Eddy is the new album from the group by the same name with musicians Brendan Larrissey (fiddle), Brian Duke (flute), Jim McKee (vocals, guitar) and Martin Gavin (bodhrán). Brendan Larrissey, from Dundalk, Co. Louth and living in Galway for almost twenty years, has established a reputation as an excellent fiddler. Jim McKee is from Cookstown, Co. Tyrone and penned three new songs for this album based on his experience of life in Northern Ireland. Brian Duke is from Roscommon, the home of traditional flute-playing and is a gifted exponent of that same tradition. Martin Gavin is a talented bodhrán player from Ballinasloe, Co. Galway and has a great interest in the music of east Galway.
